Coffee shops historically have been a gathering spot for poets, artists and malcontents seeking a forum to espouse their views; which just happens to be the purpose of this community. So, let's have at it.

Who Writes this Stuff?

May 20th 2010 05:22
Sometimes after a few days I might check over a blog post to see how it looks or whatever. Most of the time I find an error or typo even though I use the spell checker. Well the spell checker can only find a bad spelling an not a error such as " I coffee like". But hey garbage in garbage out as programmers like to say.

Like our planet the internet is still relatively young. Many though at first the world was flat. Now days many of us use that believe as a reason to argue what we might think of as an obsolete point of view. Hmm now that I think of it was that old thinking really that bad? Of course some people thought hey if you keep going straight you might fall off to oblivion while others thought hey the ground is flat and if I keep walking on a huge ball (like a basketball) I wont just suddenly get to the edge and fall off either

Who knew Monks made good coffee

May 8th 2010 03:35

So the story goes these monks from northwestern Wyoming, began roasting and selling their own coffee. The monks get their coffee from brokers, then roast it on a Diedrich roaster ("we got the Cadillac of roasters") using profiles set up by master roaster Brother Michael Mary, who worked in a Minneapolis coffee house before coming to Wyoming to study for the priesthood. The monks' website offers 21 kinds of coffee, including Hermit's Bold, a lovely blend of Sumatran and Guatemalan beans

Unwanted Instant Party Cell Phone

March 29th 2010 23:21
I have had so many cell phones in my life that I have lost count. Contract, pre pay, whatever. My latest phone is a Samsung something something. Not a smartphone or anything but I like it. For me I just want to get calls and make them. For all other things I use my laptop.

After I switched phone companies I had the number changed also. No biggie because I had my number forwarded and let close friends and family know about the change. So everything was going good, until one day I hear this sound and look around to find where it is coming from. It stopped so I figured maybe I was hearing things or something. Well a few seconds later there it is again. So I trace the source with some good ole fashioned detective work and find its coming from my cellphone. Wow that was fast someone texted me already. So I thought. So I open up the phone to find this

Firefox Apps I use

March 28th 2010 01:41
There was a time when all I used was the good old I.E. (Internet Explorer). Then years ago while in Florida visiting my cousin I noticed he was using something different. He was also playing a computer shoot-em up game online using headphones. That is when I knew he was much more advanced at computers than I. So after explaining he informed me that he only used Firefox. So when I returned home I quickly installed it and have not looked back. Well sometimes for compatibility issues you must.

After awhile pop-ups were beginning to drive me nuts so I ventured into the search engine to see what I could do about it. That is when I found the glorious world of add-ons. My first add-on I believe was ad-block plus. This allows pop ups to be stopped in their tracks, although some still get through its nearly not as bad as it once was
