Coffee shops historically have been a gathering spot for poets, artists and malcontents seeking a forum to espouse their views; which just happens to be the purpose of this community. So, let's have at it.

Coffee Lovers

June 6th 2008 17:00

Wow, when I muse about coffee, and its import to my mornings, it’s always with a mug filled to the brim with the hot, freshly brewed elixir of the God’s in hand, perfectly flavored, with my cream stirred in ever so gently that there isn’t a chance in the world of it bruising.

Tisha with her perfect cup of coffee curled up along side of me, while we idly chat about nothing important and quietly sip at the hot beverages. Medford will usually curl up and purr on the nearest available lap space, contented and making air biscuits with his clawless paws, feeling safe, secure and loved as do Tisha and I.

Things are easier to sort out in the mornings, setting wherever we happen to land and free to express ourselves without concern because we are on hallowed ground and time. In this space, we nurture each other, seek or receive council from one another, or to share laughs and tales that didn’t get told the day before. Time passes by at a leisurely pace and stress seems too vacant the area. Love is free to roam about.

Who says it’s just a cup of coffee or just a coffee break; when it is truly, so much more if you allow it to be more. Such is the Coffee Quip for me, a place to gather and to savor the magic company of friends known as customers.

Always glad to have you stop in.

Hey Medford, c'mon over and share the hammock, if we hurry, we won't miss our mid morning ~ pre-lunch nap.

Coffee lovers? that lets me out, Boo Hoo.

An even better time is the night before when everything is possible the next day, until, of course the next day arrives, nice of you to share the hammock with a cat.

Quiet there, I'm thinkin'

Where's the bird, not mocking, not me, ya got the wrong person, I was telling you about the mocking bird, thought you'd like it, being a Raven and all.

To kill a mockingbird was/is a favorite movie of mine katyzzz. Powerful and gripping just from the performances of the actors. Gregory Peck was outstanding. That deep baritone trained voice just commanded your attention.

Those voices always get me in, are you having any trouble with them?

I'll have to agree Raven, that a coffee break is a lot more than just 10 mins off whatever we are doing. Often people associate coffee with thinking time, with contemplation, with relaxation, with intimacy and a lot more emotions than we give 'coffee break' credit for

There is real value to a social coffee break, especially when shared with those we care about Amy, welcome friend.
