When Coffee Ain’t Your Cup of Tea (LINK)

Hey, g’morning and welcome. Here in Alaska, coffee reigns supreme as the hot drink of choice among city dwelling merchants and bush bear trappers. But this isn’t always the case, many of the tundra dwellers of the arctic interior and coastal regions prefer the following beverage, brace yourself for this; hot water, sic, straight up.
Many Eskimos coming to Juneau from their arctic villages for various cultural or sporting events, enjoy and savor a simple, plain beverage; hot water. They believe that cold water is hard on the body’s innards. Sipping hot water hydrates the body better, warms you up and won’t give you the caffeine jitters. They make an interesting point, if the body loses its core temperature or becomes dehydrated in the arctic, it can inhibit your ability to survive.
Caffeine in coffee or tea can contribute to dehydration under some conditions, but in moderation are helpful.
Spot of Tea Pfun anyone? Here’s some really bad puns.
• When you spot tea shops in a shopping center, you’ve seena mall.
• A lot of exotic teas are tainted, they taint yours and they taint mine.
• A ‘T’ by any other name is still a non herbal ‘T’.
• Tea served at 5AM isn’t a tea in mourning.
• Poor is not having a pot to tea in or cup to pour it from.
• Does Pavlov brand tea ring your bell?
• A tea sipping chicken crossing the road is actually poultry in motion.
• Quaffing tea and reading while sunbathing can make you . . . well, red.
After those jokes you’ll need to cleanse your palate, so here’s a Spiced Tea Mix recipe to try.
INGREDIENTS
• 1 (3 ounce) package lemon-flavored ice tea mix
• 2 (1.8 ounce) packages orange-flavored drink mix (e.g. Tang)
• 1 1/3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
• 2 teaspoons ground cloves
DIRECTIONS
• Combine iced tea mix, orange flavored drink mix, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves. Store in an airtight container.
• To serve, stir 1 1/2 teaspoon mix into 1 cup hot water.
Warm, non sexual hugs all around.
