Coffee Quip Sunday
April 12th 2008 16:36
Well, G’morning, evidently I am not going to convert any of you into Kopi Kuwak drinkers. Hahaha, I can’t blame you, no one really cares for previously processed coffee beans anyway.
C’mon in and settle down, and I’ll pour you a normal triple shot, cinnamon latte, no foam, with a real cream floater and spritzels. Would you like a Danish with that? The apple and cherry cream one’s are to die for, really; a ten on the taste scale.
Apple Cheese Danish:
Measure Ingredient
3 ounce Cream cheese – softened
2 tablespoon Sugar
½ teaspoon Vanilla
1 pack Refrigerated buttermilk Biscuits
1 medium Apple -- peeled -- cored,
Slice ¼ cup Pecans -- chopped
½ cup Caramel ice cream topping
Preheat oven to 375. Combine cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in a 2-Qt bowl until smooth. Set aside. Separate biscuits and flatten each on a cutting board using a dough roller. Peel, core and slice apples. Chop apple into smaller pieces using a food chopper or knife. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over biscuits. Top with chopped apples; sprinkle with pecans. Fold outer edges in towards center and fill cavity with caramel topping and drizzle over pecans. Bake 15 minutes or until biscuits are browned.
Simple eh? It’ll take you longer to gather the materials that it will take you to make these down n dirty taste treats.
Wanna know some gossip or good news type news? Oh, OK - Quips.
My cousin Carol is the worlds worst for getting instructions mixed up and taking things to literally. When she finally got married, her husband (and family savior) bought her one of those fancy electronic coffee makers. It had all the latest gadgets on it and even ground its own coffee.
The salesman, Charley (a family friend) carefully explained how everything worked; filling the tank, the amount of coffee beans to use, how to plug it in, set the timer, go back to bed, and upon rising ~how the coffee would be ready when she got up."
A few weeks later Carol was back in the store and Charley asked her how she liked the coffee maker. "It’s wonderful!" she replied, "However, there's one thing I don't understand. Why do I have to go back to bed every time I want to make a pot of coffee?"
Harley was eighteen years old, friendly, and eager to do things right. Unfortunately, he wasn't especially bright. He had just started his first job, as a delivery boy and general go-fer at a furniture warehouse. His first task was to go out for coffee.
He walked into a nearby coffee shop carrying a large thermos. When the counterman finally noticed him, he held up the thermos. "Is this big enough to hold six cups of coffee?" he said. The counterman looked at the thermos, hesitated for a few seconds, then finally said, "Yeah. It looks like about six cups to me."
"Good," Harley said. "Give me two regular, two black, and two decaf."
The other day, I met someone in the elevator who was drinking coffee and complaining about how coffee made him nervous. I said "Why don't you quit drinking coffee?" He said "Because if I didn't have the shakes, I wouldn't get any exercise at all."
Well that's it for the weekend.
I sure hope that Hazel is having fun on her weekend excursion.

I'll have a jaffa milkshake and a piece of cream cheese cake, please, sorry about the Danish.
I'm looking forward to coming for dinner one night and finishing with Bombe Alaska, it's a hard thing to make for one, but then again, this is a long way to travel, just as well it's my day off.
Loved the small talk today, especially good for the not so bright, should go down well on Orble.
But, yes, why do I have to go back to bed, every time I make the coffee? Just as well I never make any.

Yea, it's tough making coffee just to go back to bed; it simply doesn't work, the neighbors smell the coffee and take it for an automatic invite to have some with you.

First thing I had to do was have a stop over at the nearest coffee shop for a nice warm of espresso based drink. aaahhh...
here's my stop for today before I do another week's worth of work. (I can already see a whole load of it!)
By the way, that luwak thing's been something I was curious to just ASK people how it really tastes hahaha Has anyone died yet of hepatitis or diarrhea or something?
