Coffee shops historically have been a gathering spot for poets, artists and malcontents seeking a forum to espouse their views; which just happens to be the purpose of this community. So, let's have at it.
Hey, welcome fellow caffeine sots. Sometimes a hot beverage and a snack can't help soothe the savage beast we know as the political pundit, so, here's some pointers gleaned from the sages that frequent the Coffee Quip served up fresh and warm.

The art of personality begins when you can appreciate the following

When Coffee Ain’t Your Cup of Tea (LINK)

July 30th 2008 23:55
Hey, g’morning and welcome. Here in Alaska, coffee reigns supreme as the hot drink of choice among city dwelling merchants and bush bear trappers. But this isn’t always the case, many of the tundra dwellers of the arctic interior and coastal regions prefer the following beverage, brace yourself for this; hot water, sic, straight up.

Many Eskimos coming to Juneau from their arctic villages for various cultural or sporting events, enjoy and savor a simple, plain beverage; hot water. They believe that cold water is hard on the body’s innards. Sipping hot water hydrates the body better, warms you up and won’t give you the caffeine jitters. They make an interesting point, if the body loses its core temperature or becomes dehydrated in the arctic, it can inhibit your ability to survive

When Things Go Wrong

July 27th 2008 16:05
Hi, have you ever had a well intentioned act go horribly wrong and injure someone you love?

Up early a few days ago and working away on a project, smoking fish caught earlier in the week, inspiration laid me low. Missing my wife, Tisha, I decided to wake her up with some fresh hot coffee, ready for the sipping when she came fully back from dreamland. The coffee was in her favorite insulated cup, thus able to remain faithfully hot for her savoring pleasure, when prepared I placed the coffee on her night stand and fanned the scent of the coffee in her general direction. It smelt wonderful and I left the brew to return to my task

Hey, welcome to the Coffee Quip. One of the things that educators know that employers seem to ignore is the value of a break from the dreadful pressure and god awful tedium of most jobs. Most jobs defined: Those fields which aren’t even close to the cutting edge of career opportunities.

While in school, particularly at the elementary level, pent up bundles of energy in the form of children need frequent breaks to drain off that excess energy; to chat, quarrel, socialize, run, play, scream, shout, gossip, tell secrets, throw stuff, in short an opportunity to degauss themselves so that they can again focus on the classroom activities.

Coffee Rituals

July 13th 2008 19:35
Hey, welcome to the Coffee Quip, c'mon in and get comfortable. The only way to start your day is with cup in hand.

One of the many things I love about early mornings with Tisha is our coffee ritual and quiet time, most often spent starring out of our window and sipping at our very hot beverages

Coffee Lovers

June 6th 2008 17:00

Wow, when I muse about coffee, and its import to my mornings, it’s always with a mug filled to the brim with the hot, freshly brewed elixir of the God’s in hand, perfectly flavored, with my cream stirred in ever so gently that there isn’t a chance in the world of it bruising

R U Joking . . . No Coffee Beans?

May 16th 2008 01:34
G’morning my fellow caffeinated friends, I had a horrific and troublesome night mare last night; it may have been the result of internet jogging. I was trying to find out why there were so many worldwide grain shortages, wheat, corn, rice and hopefully not coffee beans, a staple of life you know.

Well, OK, so coffee beans weren’t really on the list, but what IF? The thought strikes fear and trepidation into the heart of this fellow. Shudder. But, the report that initiated my fears was old stuff based upon Columbian 07 – 08 harvest projections, the coffee beans made it through OK, but the cocoa productions suffered set backs and I could care less ~ but, cut into my morning café latte, and there will be feathers flying.

Kopi Luwak ~World's Costliest Coffee

April 11th 2008 11:19
Do you know what a civet is? This is what I know, they have a cat ~ fox like body, come from Africa, Madagascar, Indonesia and mainland Asia but not all at once. They are intensely private omnivores’ that appreciate a good quiche, oddly they prefer to mate in private and eat coffee bean fruit rather than drink the brewed roasted beans with some berry juice.

The rascals we’re concerned with come from Sumatra and are the only known natural manufacturers of kopi luwak. That name alone conjures up strange mental images of some deranged backstreet rage bands’ lead vocalist. But that isn’t where we’re headed

The Wonder of Junk Mail n Coffee

March 28th 2008 21:07
Hmmm, I brought my ancient laptop with me today, thinking that while gratefully sipping my morning slap the sap outta me triple shot latte, with no foam; I'd go through my email. The affair proved boring, and then I stumbled into my junk mail box eureka! My imagination ran amok and my evil doppelganger manifested its weaselly self. I went through the list, selecting to an offer and linking it to others that followed. It was easier than feeding it to the dog or lining the bird cage with the stuff; safer too.

Do not attempt this without some spicy hot chocolate, the recipe follows at some point below.

Coffee, Tea or Cold Air. . .

March 2nd 2008 18:48
Wow, it’s good to be back in the Coffee Quip, fondling the equipment, rummaging through the cooler, sniffing the various blends of teas, coffees and pastries. Life is good in the slow lane.

Hey, welcome! C’mon in friend. Let me get the shop spruced up a bit, y’know ~ the floor swept and the assorted debris containers emptied. (Whew they’re pungent). Find a comfy spot and sit yourself down, have a Danish and hot drink on the house while I complete my prep chores so that I can open for business. I'll keep working as we chat

Espresso ~ Free-Basing Caffeine

January 14th 2008 16:28
This site has been on the shelf for a while, so it let's take it out for a trial run. I loved the look of the lady and invited her along for the coffee tasting.

Well, this site being the classy upscale blog that it is, invites you have a look at this coffee art, it's to cool for words. That'll give me some stall time to figure out what to do next. Me, I miss the smoke filled coffee houses with their off beat denizens and malcontents, now we have latte artists
