Mug vs. To-Go Cup and some NKOTB
April 4th 2008 02:17
Good Morning!
Thank God It's Friday huh? For some people it's a slow day, while for others, this is as busy as mondays because we rush to finish everything before our weekends.
A cup of coffee? Mocha? maybe just a Hot Chocolate?
I just had a huge cup of Mocha before opening up shop and I remember thinking about this for sometime now. Most people take their coffee on a "To-Go Cup" whether they're dining in the cafe or actually having it To-Go.
For some people it's because they got used to having coffee on a To-Go Cup and the barista doesn't really give them a choice anymore.
Starting today, I will always ask whether you want your drink on a Mug (as in a ceramic or porcelain, washable Mug/cup) or on a To-Go carton cup. It's a way for us to be more earth/environment friendly and seriously saves more money. Hey I might just give you discount if you choose to have your drink on a Mug. I get that whenever I use my reusable thermal mug
I know I usually have mine on a To-Go cup because even if I stay in the Cafe for some chit chat, I usually finish my coffee while working, so I really need it To-Go. I also bought a thermal mug so I don't use too much of the carton cup. If I know I will just hang out in the cafe, I always have it in a mug.
Oh, before I forget, we also have Oatmeal Cookies today. Something I personally make for Fridays. Family and Friends love this recipe and although this is the original recipe, I tweak it when I'm actually making it which makes my cookies chewy instead of crunchy or crumbly.
Have a go at it OR just have one right here.
Frankly I make really good oatmeal cookies so unless you're a real good baker, then try this one out first
hahah!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped pecans
(the last three are really optional. I usually just put Chocolate Chips, and recently Raisins, their good either way)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in the oats, chocolate chips, raisins, and pecans, one ingredient at a time. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

I was browsing before you came in and saw something on CNN and I tried not to look at all the political and war related stories so I chanced upon this !
NKOTB (Sorry, that means New Kids On The Block) Reuniting?! errr quite frankly I was about 6 years old when they started becoming famous, and by the time I was going crazy over boy bands it was already BSB's (the backstreet boys) turf. (tee-hee!)
It even says on the article that... "The fan response to this has been incredible." Hmmm, and they'd be what? in their mid 30's to early 50's?
Sorry, I have nothing against them, they look good now but they're no longer kids and well, will they sound the same? hahaha I hope not, coz (sorry for the term) their balls haven't even dropped then!
I know the Spice Girls Reunited but they became famous not too long ago... What's next? MENUDO Reuniting?
