Starbucks to raise prices....
September 22nd 2006 05:06
That caramel macchiato and white chocolate mocha might become more of an indulgence than we anticipated.
Starbucks, the coffee company we love to hate, plans to raise its coffee prices by 5 cents a cup, at least in its U.S. and Canadian stores. The price hike is scheduled to take effect on October 3rd.
Starbucks states rising prices to cover increasing costs including wages and fuel after its last significant price hike in September 2004.
No word yet on effects on Australian prices but I can only imagine that it won't be long before international prices follow suit. Compared to your typical $2.50 to $3.00 cafe takeaway, how much is Starbucks worth to you?
