I walked out of New Park View Coffee Lounge, happy as a clam, my $2 takeaway flat white in my hand. What a steal and not a bad brew either.
I flag down the oncoming bus, dip in my Travel 10 Pass and head towards the back of the bus. Then I hear the dreaded words:
She eyed me with a cold angry stare. She couldn't have said it before I paid my fare. Smirking easily, she basked in her power, knowing she had full control.
What kind of monster would try and separate a commuter from her morning coffee??
So, faced with the dilemma:
1) Abandon my hardly sipped $2 coffee
2) Abandon the $1.36 Travel 10 fare and wait for the next bus
3) Pour the coffee in her lap while spitting in her face.
What would YOU do???
(Sadly, I chose option 1 since I was already running late. The bus driver went on to do the same thing to a girl with a gourmet smoothie. That girl ended up abandoning her fare.)
How much is that morning cup worth to you?
