Tom Hanks & Starbucks
October 3rd 2007 00:15
Tom Hanks has purchased the movie rights to a controversial book called, “How Starbucks Saved My Life.”
The reviews are varying, with most discussing the lack of awareness of the author of everyday life in the States. Most folks seem a bit angry that the author hasn't had much experience among those of us included in the teeming masses.
The reviews made me smile. I haven't read the book yet, but, I have met some very wealthy folks over the years. And, I am not surprised by the descriptions of the author's perspective. More bemused.
For what it is worth, and it is not sour grapes so far as I know myself, I'll take middle class life any day of the week. I do love beautiful clothes and all the stuff that comes with money, except for the greed, deceit, lack of time for family, etc. All that comes, for most folks, when they are trying to get a lot of money, or, once they are worth a fair sum.....
Anyway, so this wealthy man, child of privilege, loses his job, his marriage, etc., and has to work for an hourly wage with people who come in all kinds of colors. A lot of folks are upset that this is so new to him. But, nonetheless, it is.
I hope Mr. Hanks makes a good movie out of it. (I'll bet Starbucks does too

...this will be an interesting film.
Maybe Hanks gets caught inside a shopping mall this time, instead of an airport terminal?
Thanks for the heads up.

I love that movie: The Terminal
The Hanks character was so sweet.
